Reference Connections

Glossary Item Box

Description

Reference connections are not objects in the same sense that the other connection types are.  They simply provide a means of associating objects by reference.  They are used in the following ways;

    1. Exposing public objects via circuit connection points
    2. Associating devices with active objects
    3. Extending connection faces on to conduits or labels

The following example shows a reference connection from a thread (Log) to a device (File) and also exposing a store to external connectors by referencing it from a circuit definition pin (Log).

The reference connections are shown in gray.
